Ambire Wallet Development Update Q4 2024

As we’re kicking off development for 2025, we wanted to take one final look back at 2024 and the most important achievements from the final quarter. Let’s dive in:

New extension features

Built-in cross-chain swap

The Ambire extension now allows you to swap, bridge, or bridge &swap at the same time, all without needing to leave the window. Once you select the tokens and desired networks, the extension will recommend the best route, and Smart Accounts will let you approve & swap in one go. Better yet, you can pay for gas in a variety of tokens thanks to Ambire’s Gas Tank:

DeFi positions in AAVE and Uniswap

The Ambire extension makes it child’s play to check your DeFi positions in both Uniswap and  AAVE. Make sure your liquidity is in range on Uniswap, and check your health factor in AAVE with a single click:

Activity tab

Easily monitor your onchain actions across all EVM networks or filter by a network of your choice by checking your Activity tab. All your transactions, signed messages, etc., will be there in a human-readable format, just waiting for you:

Ambire Legends launch

December 2024 saw the launch of Ambire Legends - a gamified Smart Accounts testing campaign. Perform actions onchain across five qualifying networks (Ethereum, Base, Optimism, Arbitrum, and Scroll), earn XP, advance your soulbound NFT’s character, and soon earn rewards (first batch of rewards coming by the end of Q1)!

The campaign is running at full steam almost three months in, but it’s not too late to join. Create a Smart Account in the Ambire Wallet extension, top it up with the equivalent of $500, and start grinding your way to the top while exploring the benefits of account abstraction:

Devcon 7 SEA participation

We traveled to Bangkok, Thailand, in November 2024 for Devcon7. When we weren’t too busy eating mango sticky rice, we participated in various panel discussions, important account abstraction conversations, and workshops on the future of account abstraction, smart wallets, Web3 marketing, and Ethereum as a whole. We added another major exchange where you can trade Ambire’s native token, $WALLET. Aside from Uniswap, Sushiswap, HTX, Gate.io, and LATOKEN, you can now trade $WALLET against USDT on MEXC. Read more:

Ambire community calls and journals

We have started 2 new Ambire traditions: monthly community calls and the Ambire Journal! Both aim to keep the community up to date with the latest developments, to allow them to ask questions to the team, and to hear everything straight from the horse’s mouth. Bonus update (pssst, it’s about EIP-7702)

There has been quite a lot of talk and excitement about EIP-7702 recently in the Ethereum community - and with good reason! Imagine EOAs getting short-term superpowers and being able to batch transactions, pay for gas in any token, allow for account recovery, etc. Well, you’re in luck as EIP-7702 makes it possible, and if you’re interested in more detail, check out our EIP-7702 informational article or Ivo (Ambire Co-Founder & CEOs) recent post explaining it all.

Now for the really good news: Ambire will be EIP-7702 ready from day 1 of the Pectra upgrade going live! The first transaction with smarter EOAs has already been completed in Ambire, look at that:

2025 is already off to a great start, with many more exciting features and extension improvements coming, as well as Web3 events, Legends rewards, etc. We are currently gearing up for the first event for 2025, ETHDenver, and can’t wait to share more details soon.
