The Ambire Extension Launches Officially

Unlock smarter accounts, pay gas in stablecoins and other tokens, batch transactions - the Ambire Extension is now available to all without invite codes!

Ambire Wallet Extension goes public
Time to remove invite codes for the Ambire Extension and make it available to all.

Ambire’s mission has always been and will always be to make Web3 and self-custody easy and secure for everyone. While our initial approach has changed throughout the years due to advancements in Ethereum and the greater ecosystem, the fundamental goal remains the same: we want to empower users by giving them true chain abstraction, easier payment of transaction fees, account recovery, and improved security.

And while we were building a smart account solution, the Ethereum devs were working on a different approach - namely, EIP-7702, enabling smart account functionalities for existing EOAs without needing to migrate to a new account. This EIP-7702 was part of the Pectra upgrade, which went live on Mainnet on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025.

The Pectra upgrade gave us the opportunity to offer a new kind of wallet, and we took it: the time has come for the Ambire Extension to be out of private beta, having had full EIP-7702 support from day one. Ambire works with your existing accounts, e.g., Metamask or Rabby, but still retains the benefits you love so much - accounts are now portable, cheap, and self-reliant.

The Ambire Extension is available to all

We spent nearly a year in private testing, and users required an invite code to sign up. After much development, market research, extensive user interviews, and feedback sessions, it is time to release the Ambire Extension to the general public.

Ambire will no longer require an invite code - this means that anyone can download and install the Ambire Wallet Extension from the Chrome Web Store.

Why choose the Ambire Extension as a home for your assets

Unlock smarter accounts

Your existing (EOA) accounts are now supercharged. You don’t need to migrate to a new account to take advantage of smart (account abstraction) features and security improvements, such as:

  • Eliminate token approvals thanks to transaction batching (never leave open approvals behind, revoke multiple old approvals in one go, etc).
  • Batch multiple app interactions, swaps, or transfers in the same transaction, even if the app you’re dealing with doesn’t support it.
  • Pay gas in multiple tokens, cross-chain, and in some cases, not pay gas at all as it can be sponsored.

It just works

Our number one goal is to simply make something that works for you - a wallet that is easy but doesn’t lack in features, and ergonomic enough to be used to offboard crypto holders off CEXes, but also powerful enough to be your main and only wallet even if you’re a power user.

A favorite feature of our early adopters is that Ambire loads quickly and displays all your balances right in the dashboard, making them easily and quickly accessible at your fingertips:

The extension's dashboard displays your full balance, regardless of the network

Security is paramount

Here’s how we improve security, from the ground up:

  • Transaction simulation and preview: we simulate the outcome of each transaction, and we provide an additional preview of the operation it consists of. We do this on any network, even custom ones.
  • Scam detection: We automatically detect scam apps and provide adequate warnings.
  • Hardware wallet support: we support Trezor, Ledger, and Grid+ Lattice1
  • Eliminated token approvals

Truly cross-chain

Making a wallet cross-chain isn’t just about supporting multiple networks: it’s about making networks as invisible as possible, e.g.

  • Seamless transaction fees: In the Ambire Extension, we will sponsor gas fully for some layer 2s soon, or use the cross-chain Gas Tank on most networks
  • Accounts have the same address on any chain
  • One-click built-in Swap & Bridge: you can swap any token on any network for any other token on any other network easily and quickly
  • Supporting any new network with very few prerequisites: any network can be added as long as it has a working RPC
  • Network-abstracted user interface: Ambire shows all your balances in one dashboard, and handles apps on any network/chain auto-magically without your involvement.

Built for performance and privacy

We have a strict aversion to service providers for extra data. It’s all in the name of our users and long-term sustainability and decentralization:

  • Ambire is resilient: you don’t rely on multiple third-party APIs to access your funds
  • Ambire is fast because we don’t wait for a response from multiple third-party APIs, which are built fast rather than built to be fast
  • Ambire is private because we only call the RPC, we keep data traceability to a minimum
  • Ambire is flexible: new networks can be added without waiting for third-party partners for support

Bonus: Earn $WALLET in season 1 of Ambire Rewards

We are launching the Ambire Extension with a new Ambire Rewards season. Season 0, a private beta testing season, concludes on 08.05.2025, with close to 7 million total XP earned, and a 5x increase in daily active users.

Now it’s time for Season 1, starting on Friday, May 9th, 2025: the first public season of Rewards. It will still work for Ambire v2 accounts (smart accounts who were eligible for rewards in Season 0), but Season 1 will also add support and focus on EOAs (thanks to Pectra EIP-7702) and will reward you with extra XP for using smart features on your EOA.

Additionally, this season will bring ecosystem partnerships, where you’d get extra XP from interacting with our partners’ apps. Make sure (on or after May 9th) to connect your wallet to Ambire Rewards to earn $WALLET (T&Cs apply).
