Important Security Announcement: Third-Party Data Breach Incident on June 5, 2024
Following a data breach on June 5, 2024, affecting our 3rd-party email platform, we are providing additional information on the incident and how you can protect yourself.
Ambire experienced a data breach on June 5, 2024, through its third-party email platform, GetResponse. As we take our users’ security very seriously, we want to provide an account of what happened and what you can do to protect yourself.
On June 5, 2024, an attacker compromised a GetResponse employee’s account, leading to a data breach. We received confirmation from the GetResponse team on June 6, 2024, at 11:34 AM UTC, that a data breach had occurred.
While no phishing emails were sent from Ambire’s domain, the attacker exported email contacts from Ambire’s GetResponse account. You are not affected if you use Ambire Wallet without email, or if you haven’t subscribed to any of our newsletters.
❗️Ambire Wallet user accounts remain secure, and no passwords were compromised. Ambire Wallet continues to be safe to use and its services are not affected by this breach❗️
What can you do to protect yourself?
Please stay vigilant and exercise caution when opening any emails, as there could be an increase in phishing or spam emails. Ambire is not the only crypto company impacted by this organized, targeted attack. To protect yourself:
- Be cautious of emails from unfamiliar or misleading domains.
- Avoid clicking on links or downloading attachments from unsolicited sources.
- Be wary of emails that claim to offer token airdrops.
❗️Any emails claiming to offer token airdrops by Ambire are unauthorized emails sent by the attacker❗️
Should you receive any suspicious email from Ambire, please inform us immediately.
We deeply regret any inconvenience or distress this incident may cause. Your trust is of utmost importance to us, and we are dedicated to safeguarding your information.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
