A Series of Governance Proposals is Coming to Power-Up Ambire Rewards

We propose four changes to Ambire Rewards: making XP linear on key quests, removing the NFT requirement, doubling XP on Ethereum, and increasing governance XP to 5,000. The rewards formula stays the same. Join the Discord discussion and get ready to vote.

Ambire Rewards governance proposals
A series of proposal for Ambire Rewards to make it clearer and fairer

TL;DR

We're presenting four proposals to enhance the accessibility and fairness of Ambire Rewards. The goals are to remove barriers to entry, reward actions that align with Ambire's growth, and reflect real usage with clearer incentives.

💡
If the Season 1 extension vote (currently live) passes, these changes will take effect during the current season. If it does not, they start next season.

Why make changes to Rewards

We analyzed the performance of Season 1 and your feedback. Many users have told us they want a more straightforward way to participate and a fairer distribution of $WALLET tokens.

More than 60% of eligible addresses (those with a Level 3 or higher and a balance of $500 or more) have not minted the NFT, which means they miss out on rewards. Ethereum activity is underrewarded compared to Layer 2s, and it also incurs higher costs to use.

More than 8,000 wallet addresses hold $WALLET or $stkWALLET, yet only around 100 wallets vote per proposal. Our current logarithmic XP formula under-rewards heavier usage for some quests, such as larger swaps, more bridging, and deeper support for the token.

These proposals address those gaps. They will lower the friction for newcomers and increase incentives where they matter. The Ambire Reward program is designed to reward participation that strengthens the ecosystem.

Considering that the majority of our users didn't fully understand how Rewards works, we have started with the Season 1 extension vote mentioned above, with the ultimate goal of better utilizing the currently allocated rewards pool to attract more TVL.

What stays the same

The Season 1 rewards distribution formula remains unchanged for the whole season. Rewards still come from the 20,000,000 $WALLET pool (paid in $stkWALLET), and reward weighting is based on your level/XP and balance across weekly snapshots.

Proposal 1: Make XP linear for selected quests

We propose switching XP from logarithmic to linear for eight quests:

  • Hold staked $ETH with Lido
  • Stake $ETH with Lido
  • Use Ambire Bridge
  • Swap with Ambire Swap
  • Stake $WALLET
  • Hold $stkWALLET
  • Provide $WALLET liquidity
  • Migrate $xWALLET to $stkWALLET

XP will scale in proportion to your activity.

This change better rewards meaningful usage. Heavy users with higher balances, larger swaps, and more bridge volume earn proportionally more XP. It reduces micro-grind behavior and makes points easier to understand. More activity with higher balances should mean more XP!

This change is NOT retroactive and applies only to activity after the vote passes.

Proposal 2: Remove the NFT requirement for Rewards

We propose removing the onchain NFT mint as a requirement to join Ambire Rewards. Characters remain as offchain avatars (profile pictures) that you choose during onboarding. Existing NFTs stay in your wallet as collectibles; they will simply not be required to earn $WALLET token rewards.

This removes a barrier to entry and clears up confusion. It allows active users who have never minted to become eligible for rewards. It leads to a broader, fairer distribution of $WALLET across real participants, not only those willing to pay gas to mint.

This change is retroactive: everyone who used the wallet during Season 1 and did not mint the NFT will be able to claim the XP they have earned.

Proposal 3: Double XP for activity on Ethereum

We propose awarding 2x XP for activity transactions executed on Ethereum Mainnet. This focuses incentives on the chain that anchors our ecosystem and recognizes the higher costs associated with transacting there.

Ethereum activity should carry more weight. Doubling mainnet XP encourages real usage where it matters most.

This change is NOT retroactive and applies only to activity after the vote passes.

Proposal 4: Increase XP for governance participation

We propose raising governance voting rewards from 500XP to 5,000XP per vote. Ambire's direction should reflect the voice of users who show up and participate.

Higher incentives will bring more $WALLET and $stkWALLET holders into the process and strengthen community-led decisions.

This change is retroactive: everyone who voted in Season 1 will receive 5,000 XP per vote instead of 500.

Quick  comparison of the proposals

Proposal What changes Why it helps Retroactive
Linear XP for selected quests Log → Linear XP gain on 8 quests Rewards meaningful usage and volume; clearer scaling No
Remove NFT requirement No NFT needed to earn Less friction; more inclusion; fewer confused users Yes
2× XP on Ethereum Double XP on mainnet activity Focus incentives on the main chain No
5,000 XP for governance Voting XP 5005,000 Boosts voter participation and voice Yes

Timing and process

We'll run a 5-day discussion in Discord, followed by a 5-day Snapshot vote, with two proposals at a time. The Season 1 extension vote is live now. If it passes, these proposals will take effect in Season 1. If it does not, they start next season.

To earn this season, keep a total balance of at least $500 on eligible networks and reach Level 3 or higher in Ambire Rewards using a Smarter EOA (the account you have imported, or created in Ambire)  or a Smart Account. If you're new, now is a great time to get set up so you're eligible if changes land.

Get involved

Share your feedback in Discord, then vote on Snapshot when each pair opens. Together, we'll make Ambire Rewards simpler to join, stronger to grow, and fairer for everyone who participates.
