Ambire Legends Becomes Ambire Rewards, Season 0 to End in May
Season 0 of Ambire Legends is set to end at the beginning of May 2025. With the beginning of Season 1 in sight, it is evolving to Ambire Rewards and will have a fresh, new look.
At the end of 2024, we launched Ambire Legends: a magical blend of a quests/rewards system, an on-chain game, and a beta testing program for the Ambire Wallet browser extension. As the access to the extension is still limited and requires an invite code, Legends includes incentives for inviting your friends. It also allows you to explore new account abstraction features that everybody keeps hearing about. Still, nobody really saw (e.g., transaction batching, gas sponsorship, and more), and it employs some gaming elements like a daily Wheel of Fortune.
Season 0 is coming to an end
Ambire Legends is split into seasons, with the pilot season 0 currently running. It has been a huge success so far: we have increased our daily active users more than five-fold, and nearly 7 million XP have been awarded since the start.
The participants have been eagerly anticipating the end of season 0 so they can claim their rewards! Well, now we have a date. Season 0 will be coming to an end on Thursday, May 8th, 2025. On this day, we will take the final XP count and one final balance snapshot to calculate the $WALLET rewards for all users.
Reward distribution for Season 0
In the following days after the Ethereum Pectra upgrade (scheduled for the 7th of May), the rewards will become claimable. As per a WalletDAO governance vote from earlier this year, the rewards are calculated based on the following formula:
Weight = Level x sqrt(AverageBalanceInUSD)
Rewards will be distributed proportionally to those weights. A user’s level is based on their XP using the formula level = floor(sqrt(XP) / 4.5).

Ambire Legends is upgrading for Season 1
As the Ambire Wallet browser extension is maturing, we’ve decided to rename Ambire Legends to Ambire Rewards. This change better reflects the fact that this reward system will be the main way that the $WALLET token is distributed.
Ambire Rewards is so much more than a game:
- It’s the main distribution mechanism for $WALLET, with 30% of the supply yet to be distributed.
- It’s a partner program, allowing us to cooperate with other projects in the space for double-dip opportunities where users gain interest/yield/staking rewards with a partner of ours (e.g., Lido), and simultaneously gain XP for more $WALLET rewards
- It’s a governance engine, rewarding WalletDAO voters with XP
- It’s a technological preview, demonstrating the future of Ethereum UX: gas sponsorships, EIP-7702, EIP-4337, and more
We will be updating the name before the beginning of May 2025.

The change to Ambire Rewards also deserves a design refresh to further reflect the new direction, the growth of the Ambire Wallet browser extension, and the maturity of the rewards program.

As we look forward to season 1 of Ambire Rewards, we cannot help but look back to a successful season 0 - 5-fold growth of active users and 7 million XP is no small feat, even if we say so ourselves. Ambire Rewards is very important for the greater Ambire ecosystem, and we are determined to keep up the momentum and achieve even more in the upcoming seasons.
