In this series of short tips we will walk you through the AdEx platform to make sure you have all the information needed to take full advantage of it.
How to edit an ad slot description or images
Let’s say you changed an ad slot’s purpose and you need a new description or you want to change images.
Step 1: Go to the “Ad Slots” section of your account.

Step 2: Find the slot you want to edit and click on “View”.

Step 3: To change description text, click on the red pencil next to the old description and type in.

Step 4: To change images, click on the red pencil icons in the lower right corners of the images.

Step 5: When you click on the icon, a window will pop up. Click anywhere on the old image in the window to open upload dialog. Select your new image.

Step 6: Once you’ve done, make sure to save the changes by clicking on the blue “Save” icon in the upper right corner.
Archiving an ad slot
When you no longer need an existing ad slot, you can simply put it in archive. You can always retrieve it from the archive, should you reconsider using it.
Step 1: In order to archive an ad slot, simply go to the “Slots” section of your publisher account, find the slot you wish to archive, and click on the little grey archive icon on the right.

Step 2: On the next screen, confirm the action and the ad slot will be put in your archive.
Keep in mind, however, that ads will keep showing until you actually remove the ad slot code from the site where it’s implemented.

Retrieving an ad slot from the archive
Okay, you changed your mind about that moonicorn banner and want it back.
Step 1: Go to Ad Slots. In the middle of the tools pane you’ll see three radio buttons for displaying your ad slots:
- Active
- Archived
- All
Step 2: Click on Archived and you’ll see a list of your archived ad slots.

Step 3: Choose the ad slot to retrieve from the list. On the right you will see a small red icon with arrow pointing up. Hit it!

Step 4: On the next screen, confirm the action and the ad slot will be put back to your active ad slots.
